My Background
Although I did not follow a traditional art school path, I have always painted and drawn since childhood. In addition to completing an Access Art and Design foundation course, I hold a BA in Interior Design from the University of the Arts London, formerly known as the London College of Communication. This experience broadened my creative skills.
My artistic journey is shaped by a love of nature and inspiration from post-war artists such as Kandinsky and Pollock. I am UK-born, of Barbadian heritage, with Portuguese and Irish ancestry. For many years, I have worked for the Civil Service (UKVI) while pursuing my artistic passions.
When I am not painting, I enjoy teaching and mentoring in the community, sharing my passion for art and design. I have delivered talks on William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement, and led community classes in Colliers Wood focused on interior design and freehand sketching, primarily before COVID-19. I also manage a Facebook page dedicated to Interior Design and mentoring.

However, as a free-spirited and impulsive individual, painting enables me to escape monotony and relish in the extraordinary. The aura around my work is non-judgmental, creating a space for everyone, no matter what emotions are stirred.
With my pieces, I emphasise how we gather insight from our experiences, which allows us to arrive at our own personal conclusions.
