My Background

My artistic journey has been shaped by many elements:  which largely comprise of a love of nature. My inspiration  stems from post-war artists such as Kandinsky and Pollock.

In addition to completing an Access to Art and Design foundation course, I hold a BA (hons) in Interior Design & Retail Management from the University of the Arts London, formerly known as the London College of Communication which has broadened my creative skills.

While pursuing my artistic passions, for many years I have worked for the Civil Service in London.

I also have a Facebook page that demonstrates Interior Design and mentoring.

When I am not painting, I enjoy teaching and mentoring in the community, sharing my passion for art and design and William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement, which has led to various to talks.

I occasionally ran community classes in London Colliers Wood focused on interior design and freehand sketching, primarily before COVID-19.

I am UK-born, of Barbadian parentage, linked to Portuguese and Irish ancestry. Although I did not follow a traditional art school path, I have often painted and drawn since childhood.

However, as a free-spirited and impulsive individual, painting enables me to escape monotony and relish in the extraordinary. The aura around my work is non-judgmental, creating a space for everyone, no matter what emotions are stirred.

With my pieces, I emphasise how we gather insight from our experiences, which allows us to arrive at our own personal conclusions.
