My Background

My artistic journey has been shaped by many elements:  which largely comprise of a love of nature. I have also gathered inspiration from post-war artists such as Kandinsky and Pollock. I am UK-born, of Barbadian parentage, linked Portuguese and Irish ancestry.

In addition to completing an Access to Art and Design foundation course, I hold a BA in Interior Design from the University of the Arts London, formerly known as the London College of Communication. This experience had broadened my creative skills.

I have worked for the Civil Service (UKVI) while pursuing my artistic passions, for many years.

I also have a Facebook page that demonstrates Interior Design and mentoring.

Although I did not follow a traditional art school path, I have often painted and drawn since childhood.

When I am not painting, I enjoy teaching and mentoring in the community, sharing my passion for art and design. I have delivered talks on William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement, and led community classes in London Colliers Wood focused on interior design and freehand sketching, primarily before COVID-19.

However, as a free-spirited and impulsive individual, painting enables me to escape monotony and relish in the extraordinary. The aura around my work is non-judgmental, creating a space for everyone, no matter what emotions are stirred.

With my pieces, I emphasise how we gather insight from our experiences, which allows us to arrive at our own personal conclusions.
